Developing Sustainable Campus – Event

Sustainable development can be defined as development that meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. How this is realized in higher education institutions? What have been done already and what could be done to promote sustainability?

The aim of the DSC – Event project is to help organize two events dedicated to sustainability.

Project outline

Sustainability is one of TAMK’s core values. To promote this important element, TAMK is planning to organize two events in August (TAMK Day) and October (the Sustainability event).

Our goal in this project is to provide the organizers of these events with knowledge from the sustainability point of view:

The 1st event: Organizing a sustainability stand for TAMK staff on TAMK Day.

The 2nd event: Developing a framework for organizing sustainable event in general and scoping it to TAMK’s premises and conditions. This will help the organizers conduct all future events as sustainably as possible, too, because an event about sustainability should itself be sustainable.

The team hope to contribute to TAMK’s sustainability and gain essential practical experience so as to improve and/or learn skills related to this field.
